Dow Finishes Lowest in 5 Years
After falling 679 points today, the Dow has finished below 9000. This has been a continuing trend for the past few weeks, and a surprising plunge since last Friday's bailout being passed through Congress and signed into law. That makes to be a loss of $872 billion for Thursday and a 39.4% loss since October 9, 2007.
House Denies People, Passes Bailout
Apparently, when a vast majority of constituents want the government to leave the economy alone, in favor of protecting tax payers and making the markets right themselves, the House of Representatives is only capable of listening one time. When it comes around a second time, they're going to turncoat and vote in favor of wasting $700 billion. No matter how big the outcry, it doesn't change a thing. The thing that apparently made the difference? Billions more added onto the bill as pork! If that doesn't show you that politicians only look out for themselves, I don't know what does.
