How fitting is it that this election day be followed by the 5th of November? We are given two incredibly bad candidates for president. That can only bring about the inherent move towards a larger and more intrusive government that the new administration will bring. It makes perfect sense that the day after would be the 5th of November.

The 5th of November holds no actual significance in American history, but we can learn from it. While the Gunpowder Plot was actually about reinstating Catholicism as the reigning religion in England over Protestantism, it does serve as a message to fight back and reclaim what once was America, the intended scope and size of government. An idea cannot be buried. It cannot be broken or destroyed. However, it can be silenced, and so can the people whom the idea lives within. It is up to the people to not be silenced. It is up to us to turn back the clocks and set this country straight.

I don't support any action being taken on November 5. It is not a day significant to us, and we shouldn't try to claim it as our own. Instead, I suggest that action be taken on January 20, 2009. The date chosen should be an obvious one for Americans. It is the day of the inauguration of the new president. Be it Obama or McCain, I suggest that our protest be in action. The action, in itself, is non-violent and legal, but the intentions will show that we are willing to take our desires beyond peaceful measures. I promote that we (legal adults) purchase guns and/or ammunition on January 20. If enough people partake in the event, it would certainly cause a stir, and perhaps make our government take notice and see that we, as Americans, are no longer going to stand for it ignoring the rule of law that was established in the Constitution.

Ron Paul is no longer neutral on the presidental candidates for this year's election, and we have Bob Barr's campaign to thank for it. I finally have definitive proof that Bob Barr's campaign managers Russ Verney and Shane Cory have been tearing apart Barr's campaign. I was not sure before today, since Ron Paul's blog post, all doubt has been removed.

After Barr's campaign pushing Ron Paul to endorse Barr for President, Ron Paul was pushed to support Chuck Baldwin after wishing to remain neutral. Ron Paul had expressed desire to not have to choose between the Libertarian and Constitution parties. I believe that the change of heart came mostly from the fact that Barr cancelled on Ron Paul's liberty press conference on the 10th.

You can tell that Ron Paul is still stinging from the last minute withdrawl of Barr at the conference. Ron Paul did not mention Barr's name once in the blog post. He repeatedly used "the Libertarian Party Presidential Candidate" or "the Libertarian Party Candidate" in place of Bob Barr's name while he would name other third parties' candidates by name, like Cynthia McKinney (Green) and Ralph Nader (Independent).

Ron Paul also references Barr's repeated attempts to get him to endorse a single candidate for this election as he wanted to remain neutral out of respect for the Libertarian and Constitution Party members.

I’ve thought about the unsolicited advice from the Libertarian Party candidate, and he has convinced me to reject my neutral stance in the November election. I’m supporting Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate.

Again, this is just further proof that Russ Verney and Shane Cory have been taking Barr's campaign down. They wanted their campaign to be the ONLY campaign that Ron Paul endorsed. They completely missed the point of the rEVOLution, and now Barr's campaign is suffering as a result of their incredible arrogance. The Libertarian Party was not created to split the country into three instead of two. It was to bring back liberty to America, just like Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty is trying to achieve. They could have rode the wave by having Barr supporting the Campaign for Liberty. Instead, they expected the Campaign for Liberty to support Bob Barr.

It may be late in the season, but I believe that since there is no chance of a Barr presidency in 2008, Bob Barr should fire Shane Cory and Russ Verney for being terrible campaign managers and apologize by taking full responsibility for the actions that he took thanks to those two nitwits. At the very least, it would regain some credibilty that he lost thanks to the recent actions of his campaign.

I still support Bob Barr and the Campaign for Liberty. Though, I am highly disappointed in how Barr's campaign has been acting as of late, and I feel that I'm in danger of changing my vote to Baldwin, as well. We'll see what happens over the course of the next few weeks. Baldwin is on Michigan's ballot under the U.S. Taxpayer Party, so regardless of what happens, I will still be able to vote for my candidate.

I am impatient when it comes to me getting things that I want. I ordered a Barr '08 yardsign and some bumper stickers on July 16th. I still have yet to receive these items, and they haven't even been shipped yet. I contacted the store's Customer Support today , and I was informed (by an actual person's writing, and not some dry, 'professional' response) that the yard signs "have been so backordered it isn't funny." She later confirmed my suspicion that it was because of "way more" orders than anticipated.

Why is this important, you may be asking? It's important because it shows that Bob Barr and the Libertarian message is popular, and it is capable of actually making a splash in this year's election. While this won't ultimately gain us the victory, it may just make people pay attention to our message of liberty a little more. 2008 has been a tremendous year for the libertarian movement and Ron Paul's Revolution, and just because RP is out of the race, the movement hasn't slowed. That's a great thing to witness.

I will still be impatiently waiting for my Barr items. I have a war to fight inside of my apartment building with all of the liberals, and perhaps with the rest of my city. Perhaps I'll have them by the end of the week or the beginning of next. I need to turn heads, and that is my determination to do.

Being that I have a huge drive for political philosophies and the current election, I've been wanting to be more of a political activist than I have been. I didn't get the chance to go to Washington D.C. last Saturday for Ron Paul's March because of finances, and the fact that there was no way I was going to drive to D.C. by myself. This Tuesday, however, I got a chance to start my activism on a small scale.

There's this ultra liberal woman that lives in my apartment building on the first floor. She's all about the community, and is all about Obama '08. She decided that this upcoming Tuesday she is going to host a get together for people to come in support of Obama. Well, she sent everybody invites for it by sliding the invites under everybody's doors, her usual method. When I got home, I saw the flyer, and I decided to respond in a public fashion. I made an example of her flyer by crossing out the information she had on it, and scribbled pro-Barr/Libertarian Party information on it. Then, I stuck the revised flyer on the board in the apartment lobby. Apparently, this caused a stir.

Then, on Wednesday, I decided to up the ante and actually make a flyer promoting Barr. Since my editing of the Obama flyer was taken down, I put up my newly designed flyer in its place, next to the invite posted by the ultra liberal. This morning, I put some grayscale copies of the flyer on the table downstairs next to my Barr '08 flyer. Hopefully, some people will be interested enough in wanting something different besides Obama and McCain and will take the flyers and research Barr. It'd be fun if come Tuesday, half of the building was in support of Bob Barr. I know I put Barr's name in the minds of two unsatisfied women in my apartment building, so who knows what will happen. This might just be the year that there is noticable change.

My beautiful flyer.

I figured that it makes no sense for only myself to have the rights to copy and distribute this beautiful flyer, I decided to make it public. I know that most people don't have Adobe Illustrator, and since most people DO have Adobe Acrobat Reader, I decided to post a color version and a grayscale version in PDF format for people to print and distribute. I found that if you don't want to take the time to download the file and print it or put it on a flash drive to get it printed, Office Max will open the file directly from the web and print it. At least, that's what I was able to do.

This is just the first wave of my activism. Hopefully, I'll be able to do more and more to help the cause of liberty. If I don't speak up now, I may never get the chance to before being silenced for good. I'm not willing to let that happen, and neither should anybody else.

I know, I should have posted this as soon as I found out, but I've been lazy. As the Libertarian National Convention was this past weekend, the presidential nomination has been determined. Bob Barr is, officially, the presidential nominee for the Libertarian Party for 2008. He won after 6 rounds, and Wayne Allyn Root has been chosen for his vice presidential candidate.

There's not a whole lot else to be said on this matter. As far as I'm concerned, Bob Barr is the best man for the job. He is trying to garner the same support that Ron Paul has while going for the GOP's nomination. My first choice would have been Ron Paul for president, and I was disappointed when he stated, a few months ago, that he would only seek the Republican nomination and no third party nomination. That being the case, Bob Barr and Wayne Root are the two best choices for the job, as far as I'm concerned.

Please show your support for the ticket that will bring America back to where it belongs, operating as it did when our nation was first founded on the principles of liberty and limited government. Patriots did not shed their blood for a new tyranny to be born, so to honor the sacrifices they and the patriots that followed gave, we must elect a candidate who would make them proud. Make Barr/Root your 2008 presidential choice, and bring America back from whence it came.
